Can't we get a Kelly Clarkson or David Cook?

Ok, so we're starting to feel like Beaumont IS second rate, as the American Idol runner-ups are lining up to play in this big beautiful triangle of gold.

David Archuleta, last season's runner up, will perform Wednesday, March 11 at Scout Bar on Crockett Street. At 18 years old, we're not exactly sure how he's going to get in the bar, much less his hoards of preteen fans. Can anyone say riot?? (side note: one editor here has promised to take his 70 year-old grandmother, if that gives you any idea of what to expect)

Diana DeGarmo, who lost out to Fantasia in season 3, will be here Tuesday, Feb. 17 playing Dorthy in Oz, the Musical, at the Jefferson Theatre. To be honest, we don't remember a damn thing about Ms. D and can only hope she finds her way back to Kansas.
