LIVE BLOG - Motown Results Show

6:49 - Alright folks, thanks for joining us again tonight! Stay tuned with us - and FOX too, of course - for the next hour as we find out if our own Pork Chop, er, Michael Sarver will stay or go.

7:01 - Seacrest kicks things off by telling us that over 36 million votes came in...the most in the history of the show.

7:03 - Seacrest, Simon and Paula...awwwwwkward! Time to revisit last night.

7:06 - BUT FIRST...we MUST have a medley! Along with some really bad choreography. The ladies look great. The guys, mostly look like they just rolled out of the frat house.

7:14 - Oh Lord...now we have to sit through this heinous commercial/music video.

7:15 - Give it up for Ruben Studdard! It was nice of him to top by "Idol" before going to party at the Playboy mansion later...Sorry...we're being told he's actually wearing a suit and not fancy pajamas. Our bad.

7:19 - Time for the bottom three...dim the lights, please. No rejection in brightened hues, please.

Adam...is safe!
Matt...is NOT???? Whoa!
Kris...is safe!
Lil...is safe!
MICHAEL...is NOT!!!! YIKES!!! Not good folks.

7:27 - Smokey Robinson and Joss "Shoes are not my thing" Stone sing "You're the One For Me" and the sound great, but OH MY GOD WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH SMOKEY'S CRAZY EYES??? Seriously.

7:35 - Time to find out who else is in the bottom three.

Allison...is safe!
Anoop...is safe!
Danny...is safe!
Scott...is NOT!
Megan...is safe!

7:38 - Scott, Micheal and Matt are in the bottom three. Randy doesn't think Matt belongs. TOO BAD DAWG...because SCOTT is safe...it's now down to Matt and Micheal.

7:44 - Simon says that they judges will decide to use The Save based on their final performance. BUT FIRST...and Motown medley featuring Stevie Wonder! Who...we have to say, sounds a bit off key...he's probably still traumatized from performing with The Jonas Brothers at the Grammies. Still...Stevie rules.

7:50 - This just in...Stevie loves Barack Obama. Despite being finalists, contestants lack rhythm while dancing.

7:56 - Who will sing for survival tonight...it's Michael! NO! Now he's got to sing to stay. Let's see how he does...don't think this was the performance that would win the judges back. But...if they didn't like this the first time around, why would hearing it again change their minds?

7:58 - Looks like Micheal Sarver's time in LA has come to an end...WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU MICHAEL AND ALL YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED!

Seriously man...we've had a lot of fun on this blog, but are in awe at what you've accomplished. You should be proud of yourself...WE are ALL proud of YOU!

8:00 - With sadness and pride for our hometown boy...Enterprise out.

LIVE BLOG - Top 10 Performance

6:52 - Awww yeah Southeast Texas! It's almost time for our LIVE BLOG EVENT! Tonight the "Idolaters" are singing songs from Motown. We think Micheal should do well - the boy's got some soul, after all. Adam...let's just say we're curious about the spectacle he turns out.

7:00 - THISSSSS...is Seacrest being a massive tool. Seriously. We can't wait until he falls down the stairs. Simon says the singers have to make the songs original. Let's see how they do...!

7:05 - Or...we can pause for a Motown Montage. Time for a ROAD TRIP TO DETROIT!

7:08 - Let's just get this out of the way...Smokey Robinson is a legend. But what's the deal with his eyes? Is he part Lynx?

7:09 - Matt Giraud starts if off with "Let's Get it On"...wow. BIG song choice for him. He slows it down at first with the piano - good choice. Than he brings it home with the mike at center stage all while wearing Mr. Rogers' sweater.
JUDGES - Randy dug it. Kara liked the piano and than when he stood up. Paula thought he was classy and spot on. Simon thought he cemented his frontrunner status.

7:14 - Kris Allen is up next. He's also going with Marvin Gaye and "How Sweet it Is." Let's see if he's got the soul for this performance...he does a fine job, but our thing with him is that when he sings, he kind of looks like a toddler trying to form words for the first time...just saying.
JUDGES - Kara says he did everything right. Paula is proud of him. Simon thinks he needs some more confidence. Randy thinks he hit his zone.

7:30 - Next up is Scott McIntyre...singing "You Can't Hurry Love"...in pink pants. OK we're not so in favor of this version starring Happy Peppy Scott McIntyre and the Crazy Giddy Peppettes.
JUDGES - Paula thought the backup singers brought something different. Simon thinks he's better than that performance. Randy thought it was average. Kara thought the execution was imperfect. Than Paula gave Simon colors and a coloring book...?

We just decided to make this a drinking game. Clearly the judges have.

7:42 - Here's Megan Joy singing "For Once in My Life"...and, sure this song might have actually been in a Carnival Cruise line commercial once...but she didn't need to interpret that literally. She sounds like the afternoon entertainment on the Lido Deck.
JUDGES - Randy thought it was a train wreck. Kara thought it was all over the place. Paula thinks she's stunning, but agrees. Simon thought it was horrible.

7:50 - Next up is Anoop Desai...and he'll sing "Ooo Baby Baby."

(PAUSE - OK...seriously, Smokey's eyes are CRAZY, right?)

Back to Anoop...He sounds really good...yet he's dressed like a Math-lete.
JUDGES - Kara thought it was pretty good. Paula wants to see more confidence. Simon liked it, but wanted more showmanship. Randy liked his lil' "Anoop Dawg."

ONE HOUR WRAP-UP: So far, we think they break down like this: Matt, Kris, Anoop, Scott, and Megan. BRING IT ON PORK CHOP!

8:05 - Here's Mr. Chop himself...he sings "Ain't Too Proud to Beg"...and it's solid! His vocals are good. He sounds a bit out of breath, but we'll chalk that up to nervousness. This, Pork Chop, was WELL DONE!
JUDGES - Paula didn't think he dominated enough. Simon doesn't think he can win with performances like that. Randy thought he made it too corny. Kara didn't think he showed who he was as an "artist."

8:17 - Lil Rounds is next...she sings "Heat Wave." Actually she belts it out. She goes low in a couple points, which is original, but mostly she just owns the song.
JUDGES - Randy didn't think it was her best. Kara thought she should have nailed it more. Paula disagrees and also thought she owned it. Simon thought she should have chosen a different song.

8:31 - Adam Lambert is next and...umm...he looks interesting - more 1950's and less vampire. Sort of liked he's double booked for a sock hop-themed DVD release party for "Twilight." He's singing "Tracks of My Tears." Great song. Great arrangement. And he sings it really, really well. We'd have to say it's the best of the night.
JUDGES - Kara thought it he showed artistry. Paula thought it was exciting! Simon thought it was the best of the night. Randy dug that he showed his range.

8:40 - Danny Gokey is next to sing...and he's going with "Get Ready." His voice sounds great and he works the song in his favor. But his movements are a bit awkward...how's his eyesight?
JUDGES - Paula thought it was first-class. Simon didn't love it. Randy was feeling the energy. Kara thought good, not great.

8:50: - Last one to go is Allison Iraheta singing "Papa Was a Rolling Stone." Perfect song choice for her gravelly, soulful voice. She's up there with Adam as the best of the night.
JUDGES - Randy thought it was blazing hot. Kara thought it was amazing. Paula thought she was awesome. Simon thought it was one of her best performances.

That's all folks! Lines are open for the next couple hours. So CALL AND VOTE! Based on the judges comments, here's how we see them stacking up: Adam, Allison, Matt, Kris, Anoop, Lil, Danny, Scott, Michael, and Megan.

Thanks for watching with us...ENTERPRISE OUT!

LIVE BLOG - Michael survives! .. barely

7:55 Here we go again. :) Good luck Pork Chop!

8:10 Ryan says the results tonight may shock us – FINALLY, maybe we won’t fall asleep this week. Oh.. this is American idol. (almost forgot that). Ryan hints that the judges save could be used tonight (but he’ll say that every week). And now a reminder of how boring last night was. And now the group number! AH, they put Scott at the piano…lol. How come Michael and Danny are always standing together in the group numbers? Ok, this song is horrible. Hasn’t anyone heard of “harmony”.. surely a group this talented can sing more than one note. Sorry, but Scott needs to leave. We miss our cheesy Disney Channel choreography.

8:18 And now the Ford music video.. maybe we’ll actually get to see it this week (thanks Fox). And it’s a water balloon fight ..around a car. (yawn). And now we get to relive last week’s elimination.. can we get some results already? Some heartwarming video of last week’s “afterparty” is played.. with LOTS of snapshots of Michael and the fam! Michael tells Ryan (looks like he’s going to cry) that his daughter misses him. Ok, Michael just won a lot of fans with that!!!!!!! OK, results time. Those that advance make it into the national tour: Hokey, safe. Lil Rounds, safe. Anoop, safe. Allison and Michael up next! Michael looks NERVOUS! Allison’s in the bottom 3!.. and what about Michael? He’s in the BOTTOM THREE. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

Ok, we are freaking out .. so nervous for Michael right now. When they gave Michael a chance to speak to his daughter earlier we suspected that he would be in the bottom three. But he’ll pull through .. just wait.

8:32 Our first musical number of the night. Tame compared to Kanye West last week. What is up with these country folks? first Randy Travis, now this guy (no, we don’t know his name).. both put us to sleep. We feel like all the energy is being sucked outta the room. Kanye West’s hand towel was more entertaining. (ok, so maybe we’re just depressed about Michael)

8:40 We’re back. Allison and Michael looking dour on the silver seats of sadness. More results: Scott is safe. Megan, safe. Matt (does the mole in the middle of his head bother anyone else), safe. Kris, safe. Alexis and Adam up last. Randy called Alexis “Allison”..HA, all those rocker girls look the same. Alexis is in bottom. And now Alexis, Allison and Michael are bottom three and.....ALLISON is safe. The bottom two are Michael and Alexis.. YIKES. Ok fans, if Michael survives tonight you better WORK those dialing fingers next week.

8:52 Of course we’re going to have to wait a bit for the results. Carrie Underwood’s up! (She kinda looks like Megan here (sans tattoos of course). Singing a duet with Randy Travis. Carrie sounds great. Randy was just background music. And now back to Alexis and Michael.. Simon says the judges would consider saving one of them.

8:55 The moment of truth.. will Michael make it into the Top 10 and get to go on the Idol national tour. DialIdol this morning predicted Alexis got the least number of votes, but they’ve been wrong before and WE ARE NERVOUS. Just breathe. Here we go. Michael is SAFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

9:00 Alexis gets one last song to convince the judges to save her. If they save her it won’t be because of this song… yikes, out of tune and bad. That said we do love her, usually, but not now. And it’s a no. Alexis is going home.

LIVE BLOG - Top 11 performance

6:45: Yeehaw! Grand Ole Opry Week is here. Ok, so we're not as excited as we were for Michael Jackson week, but tonight's show determines who makes the Top 10 and the American Idol national tour. Plus, "country" week is always .. uh, interesting, especially for the rockers. We'll be here all night, sharing our Idol expertise, or lack thereof.

7:12: T H I S S S S is American Idol. Are we doing the movie guy’s judge intro again? Why? So we’re a little disappointed none of the judges are wearing cowboy hats. Randy says this is always the tough week. Kara is wearing a silver jump suit. Paula.. actually looks nice, and Simon’s got on a …wait for it … wait for it… V-neck T-shirt (at least it’s grey this time). Randy Travis was this week’s celebrity mentor (he’s looking really bad). Michael Sarver’s first and he’s singing what we thought, Ain’t Goin Down.. CROSS YOUR FINGERS. Travis tells him to be careful not to lose the words. We find that we are holding our breath to see if he misses a word, but great start. Damn this is a fast paced song. Ok, Michael made us a believer, we were worried about the song, but great job. Too bad we couldn’t understand half the words, but we had fun watching it.

JUDGES: Randy, fun, but song choice didn’t show off voice. Kara: We got to see personality, but missed hearing the big notes. Paula: …is not making any sense. Still not. Something about a harmonica and the genre suiting him. Simon: Couldn’t understand a word Michael was singing (ok, we agree with this). Clumsy and sounded “Norwegian”?? Likable guy…Michael’s kinda sassy tonight will all the comebacks. Simon gave it a 1.2 on a scale to 10..yikes, it wasn’t that bad.

7:22: Alisson’s next. Three notes into it and we love it already… and now we’re getting bored. It was solid. But the audience loved it. JUDGES: Kara, loved it. Paula, (showing A LOT of cleavage). ..again, not making since, tells Allison to be “built”? Simon: Good but procosious (spelled right? Too many syllables for us). Simon translates: that means dope.

7:28 Kris is next. The teenage girls will love this, but it is boring the hell out of us. Sorry, fell asleep for a second. But we’re told it was beautiful. JUDGES: Paula, pleasantly surprised. Some pitchy notes. Simon thought it was terrific. Randy, loved the tender moments, calls him a “tender dawg” HA. Kara, “that’s opryland?”

7:40 And Lil Round is here.. she got a makeover. Ok, she definitely doesn’t look like a “Lil Rounds” now. Singing Independence Day, A little pitchy already. It sounds like she is TRYING to sing country and not just being herself (and she’s not a country singer). Ok, not sure what’s wrong with us, but everything’s boring us tonight (except Michael of course). JUDGES: Randy, struggled to like it, didn’t feel comfortable on her (good, it wasn’t just us). Kara not a fan of song, but liked that Lil standed her ground. Paula, who is obviously celebrating St. Patrick’s on her own, slurred through another. Simon didn’t like it, even a lil.

7:55: If we forget to post at the next commercial break, someone call and wake us up. Oh, Adam’s next, never mind. Doubt anyone could sleep through one of his performances. Singing Ring of Fire …an Indian, Middle Eastern version that left Randy Travis speechless and a little scared…ROFL. That was so freakin funny. Randy just thought the painted fingernails were the scary part. Well, it’s definitely original, not sure about the beginning, but there are some “interesting” moments near the end. Can’t wait to hear what the judges say. JUDGES: Kara called that country music??.. which country?. Says it was strange but loved the drama and smokey eyes (it’s called eye shadow). Paula loved the sitar-Kashmir-Led Zepplin sound.. uh huh. Simon ‘WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT’.. HA. Randy said it was young and fresh.. but what does he know.

Randy Travis is still speechless.

8:08 Scott is singing with his piano, again. Randy Travis liked… the piano playing. We’re gonna take a nap. Has anyone else noticed his ‘vampire’ teeth… sorry, we were trying to find something interesting. He’s going home. JUDGES: Paula, you worked hard but piano is crutch. Simon says: Paula’s stupid, bad song choice and sounded too much like last week. Randy bored. Kara, ditto (not to be confused with ditz).

Here’s our ranking thus far: Allison, Kris and Michael (tied), Adam, Lil, Scott

8:15 Alexis (yea!) is next. She DOES look like Dolly Parton (not the chest but everything else). We never noticed before. She’s singing Jolene. Hmm.. not rolling our socks up and down. It has a few nice moments, but where’s the dirty?. JUDGES: Randy didn’t enjoy it. Kara felt she lost her edge (YES) and it was flat. Paula didn’t mind pitch problems?? Why not? Simon says it’s just ok, no originality, forgettable. Wait, who just sang?

8:25 Ok, Michael’s sitting in a pretty good position right now. They need to get rid of country week in the future. Danny Hokey.. we mean Gokey is next, singing Jesus Take the Wheel. He was star struck in front of Randy Travis and couldn’t sing..really. If only.. He’s wearing a white pimp jacket.. it’s more like a pimp cargo jacket. Or a pimp cargo polar expedition jacket. Not a fan of the beginning but he sounds great later. It feels like he’s trying way too hard. JUDGES: Kara loves him when hits stride, but first half of song not so good. Paula brilliant. Simon hates the jacket (HA). Randy, pitchy but great singer.

8:35 Anoop is up singing You are Always on My Mind. Randy Travis loves it. Let’s see if we agree. Chills here. WOW. More chills. Great performance, best of night for us. JUDGES: Paula “Anoop is back”, tender, sweet vocals. Simon: Anoop “went from zero to hero” (isn’t that a line from the Hercules movie?) His fave of night. Randy: proved you could sing. Kara: amazing, biggest surprise.

8:50 Megan Caw Caw is up next. Wow, another great makeover and she’s left the arm flails at home. We usually love her voice, but she sounds a little squawky tonight. OH, she’s sick (got the flu), that explains it. JUDGES: Simon, pretty good, really worked. Kara, perfect song and look. Paula tells us Megan’s been in hospital today and couldn’t make it to dress rehearsal. (great, now she’ll get the sympathy vote) Simon: You should have flu every week.

9:00 And finally, Matt G, singing another Carrie song. Is Paula smelling Simon’s arm??? Solid, no complaints. JUDGES: Kara, special. Paula, authentic, piercing hearts. Simon “you ARE a heart piercer” AWWWWWW. Out sang Danny. Randy: Favorite of night.

Our final ranking: Anoop, Allison, Matt, Kris, Danny, Michael, Megan, Adam, Alexis, Lil, Scott

LIVE BLOG - Elimination night

8:08 THISSSSSSSSSSSS … is American Idol (ok, so Ryan doesn’t have a lisp, but it would be funny eh?) 33 million votes came in last night. .0000000000000001% of those were ours! .. Paula left her bird at home today. And the twist, to stop an uproar if the wrong contestant leaves too early… "the judges save”.. aka the veto. As reported, they can save one contestant from being eliminated during the season. We’re seeing the contestant’s new diggs for the first time .. very judges “mansion”esque.. without Simon in a red velvet chair that is.

Time for the group number.. starting with some bad dance moves from Jorge and Kris. Ok, watch Scott try to keep up with the moves. We know we shouldn’t laugh, but it is HI LAR I OUS. (Thank God for TIVO..we can’t wait to watch this back and devote our whole attention to Scott).. WAIT.. did Danny just do pelvic thrusts?? NOOOOOOOO. We won’t sleep tonight. Overall, a decent performance. Michael had some great parts in it, including some amazing rifts there at the end.

8:15 Time for last night’s recap: Paula still looks drunk. And now some results finally. Maybe. Ryan and Michael have a nice little chat.. (go Michael with the extra TV time) Michael says “Working is the word” and that he’s struggling with dance moves. He also got to make his first music video. WAIT, our TV cut to a Market Basket commercial before the Ford music commercial.. what happened? Damn TV station..

8:25 MICHAEL’S first .. and the TV cut out again (this time to a Jack in the Box commercial? COULD THIS COME AT A WORSE TIME).. $%&^#@$ FOX! .. wait, it’s back on AND he’s in!! Allison’s next.. and she’s also safe! Thank God! And Matt’s safe. Kris and Megan are up next. Kris is safe. Megan’s in the bottom with Jasmine. And the first person going home is Jasmine! We knew it! They should have left her in the wildcard. Megan’s singing “I’ll Be There”.. but she doesn’t mean on Idol. And we’ve got our first tears of the night. As if it isn’t bad enough for Seacrest to tell contestants they are out.. they then have to wait for the judges to tell them they won’t save them. It’s double the pain and humiliation.. we love it.

8:35 And Kanye West’s up. What’s up with the hand towel sticking out of his back pocket? And did anyone see the shoulder pads on that backup singer? Ok, we can’t stop staring at the hand towel.. what is it? We keep waiting for him to wipe something.. anything. But no.

8:45 More results: Scott’s first and he’s safe. “Naughty” Alexis safe. Danny Gokey safe. Anoop “beats it” to the hot seat.. (of course he’ll be joined by Jorge soon). Adam is safe. Jorge KNOWS he’s going home… just look at that face. But first, Lil’s safe. And the person going home.. will be revealed after the break. (but we’ll have to wait two breaks)

8:50 Kelly Clarkson’s up! Cue awkward banter between Kelly and Ryan. Kelly’s singing “My life would suck without you” Ryan sings along to Simon. (and backstage, Kanye sings to his hand towel)

9:00 Wow they’ve crammed a lot into this hour. It seems like the results were an afterthought. Speaking of, we’re back to Anoop (who should go) and Jorge (who will go). Anoop is safe. Adios Jorge. And now we have to hear him sing that awful song again (ok, it’s a little better than we remember). And now time for the second rejection from the judges.. and it’s a no. Ouch, this double rejection hurts ☺ Well, another week down and 11 left. If (we mean “when”) Michael makes it into the Top 10, he’ll get a spot in the national Idol tour. So rest your dialing fingers and watch again next week. –Enterprise out.

LIVE BLOG - Top 13 performance

6:45 It’s almost show time! And we thought we were excited about the wildcard round. It’s been three weeks since we last heard Michael sing. We’re hoping he’ll come out swinging! Tonight we should finally get a feel for who’s really the favorites and underdogs. Can’t wait.

7:15 Here we go! THISSSSSSS (…….very long dramatic pause……) is American Idol! Ok, what’s up with the dramatic judge’s entrance.. is that the “movie guy” announcing them? Kinda creepy. The new stage reminds us of a bad acid trip.. and Paula’s wearing a bird in it. Did she think tonight’s theme was Bjork? Simon tells us two people are being eliminated tomorrow (as we reported last week) and the theme is Michael Jackson music (also, old news). Maybe we should be a producer as well as a judge.

Lil’s first: Singing The Way you make me feel, She sounds a little like Fantasia here. Did Paula pick out her outfit? It’s okay so far, but not really wowed yet. The second half was better, but solid all the way a Lil round. (ha). Tiffany and Michael’s mom are sitting right behind the judges! JUDGES: Love her. Kara wants to hear her on radio. Paula loves Lil’s outfit.. we told you they match.. but not in a good way. Simon’s disappointed.. lazy song choice, second half better and he hates what she’s wearing (WAIT, Simon’s reading our blog?? Cool.)

7:25 Scott’s next: He was a really cute kid. What happened? Singing Keep the Faith: (sorry, but we don’t know this song) Scott’s finally gotten behind a piano. He sounds great! We were worried about him after last week’s performance, but he rocked it tonight.. should definitely advance. Standing ovation. JUDGES: Kara loves him with piano. Confirms that it’s sorta unknown Michael Jackson song. Paula said “it’s great to see your instrument at your fingertips” ROFL. Simon hated song, performance underwhelming. Paula said it was biggest selling record in NORWAY?? What? Who cares. Randy says old fashioned.. wants to see more sparks. (by the look of Scott’s hair, he’s seen a few sparks already) Danny and Michael coming up next!

7:35 Danny Gokey’s up. Singing DYT. Off to a great start. In a few spots it feels like he’s yelling at us. WOW. Great job. Is he really a music minister?? JUDGES: Paula predicts he’ll be in the final. Simon: vocal brillant, one heck (he said heck?) of a singer, but the dancing was hideous. Randy loved it all..including the dancing. Let’s hope Micheal’s got his moves together this week.

MICHAEL’S UP: And we’re in Jasper. His daughter is so cute. Michael needs to bring the blue oil rig suits to the stage! Singing You are Not alone: Sounds great so far, but the weird faces are creeping in. He’s making the song his own. He’s really into the performance .. very committed. Great last note! This was by far his best performance. JUDGES: Simon says he’s not the best singer, but has great passion, heart, gave 100%. Randy says one of best tonight. Kara: You really can sing! Paula said he sounded really lovely tonight!

7:50 Jasmine’s here. Singing I’ll Be There. She looks great .. and she sounds great. Where’d this come from? All the contestants are bringing it tonight. JUDGES: Randy impressed. Kara’s surprised, has great stage presence. Paula “you have composure and poise” and what does that have to do with singing? Simon says, good attempt, called her robotic and little girl…uh, ok.

8:05 Kris Allen’s next: Sorry girl’s, he’s married. He may have just lost his teenage girl fan base. Can you hear the sobs? He looks like he’s playing a guitar, but we can’t hear it. He should have left it behind. We’re not sure what to think of the performance. It was entertaining. JUDGES: Kara says the girls love Kris. Paula’s drunk again. Simon’s trying to feel her up again. Yawn. She does manage to tell him he’s sexy (Kris, not Simon).. awkward moment. Simon says Kris shouldn’t have brought the wife out so early!!! HA, we thought the same thing. Randy loved the guitar.

8:05 Allison’s next: And she’s singing in a furniture store? With a stage? She’s definitely a good performer. Where is that personality when she isn’t singing? We’re loving the rocker vibe. Great, original performance. There’s no way she’s 16.. amazing. JUDGES: Paula, you look like a rock star up there (we agree) and her hair looks great. Simon enjoyed it. Randy says she’s the one to watch (we agree). Kara “great job”

How we rank them so far Allison, Danny, Michael, Scott, Lil, Jasmine, Kris

8:15 Anoop’s next. He DID get a makeover. But they didn’t tweeze the eyebrows?!?! Singing Beat It. This should be interesting. Solid performance, but it felt weird seeing him sing it though. We mean Anoop and Beat it?? Really? At least he wasn’t making love to the microphone this time. JUDGES: Paula thought he shouldn’t have tried song. Simon hated it, said it looked “stupid” Randy and Kara also disappointed. Simon says he regrets bringing Anoop back.. ouch.

8:25 Jorge singing Never Gonna Say Goodbye. Shaky start, not sure we like the song choice. Not memorable.. kinda corny. Singing was decent but there’s something about Jorge that creeps us out. We think it’s the eyebrows..he looks like a comicbook villain. JUDGES: Randy, bad song choice, pitchy. Kara, missing emotional connection. Paula, you weren’t yourself. Simon, said it was CORNY.. he can at least give us credit for his comments.

8:40 Megan’s up: She found a song she can swing her hips and flap her arms to. We didn’t know this was a Michael Jackson song. Did she just say “caw caw” We love her voice but this song didn’t really show it off and the awkwardness is still there. That said, it was entertaining. JUDGES: Girls: quirky. Simon: “What a STUPID song choice”

8:45 Adam.. can’t wait to hear what he’s singing.. Black and White. Here come the theatrics. Is it just us or do all of his songs sound the same? AMAZING vocals, but over the top.. then again it is Michael Jackson. JUDGES: Paula: Best stage presence off all seasons and will see in finals. Simon: In a league all your own. Randy: Loved it. Kara hopes Michael Jackson is watching tonight .. and so does Ryan.

Ryan’s a tool.

8:55 Matt G. Bored. We prefer when he’s not behind the piano. Those high notes were scary. We didn’t care for it. JUDGES: Kara liked it. Paula said he was sexy. (run away). Simon and Randy said it was solid. We didn’t see it.

9:00 Alexis gets the pimp spot (and the random 13th phone number). Shaky start, but she looks like a star, great performance. It’s hard to hear her voice in this song. JUDGES: Kara “you’re a naughty girl and I like it”.. uh, ok. Simon and Randy: Not as good as you think it is. But great attitude (that would be the naughty part)

Ryan says the big twist we’ve been waiting for will be announced tomorrow night. It’ll be a change to the rules involving the judges. We can’t wait to find out! More on that later. Overall, it was a great night. Michael was strong. But we must admit to being disappointed there was no moonwalk or silver gloves.

Here’s how we rank them: Allison, Danny, Adam, Scott, Michael, Alexis, Lil, Jasmine, Matt, Megan, Anoop, Kris, Jorge

Now go and vote! 1-866-436-5704

LIVE BLOG - Wildcard round

7:00 Here we go! Tatiana already looks like she’s going to cry.. and what’s up with her outfit? Can we say bling.

7:08 Only three silver seats of safety left. Jesse’s first: She lets us know she’s very grateful to be here.. yeah, we’d think so. Someone should tell her the mic stand isn’t a stripper pole. We don’t really know what to say about her performance. It was decent, yet awkard. JUDGES: Interesting song choice. Interesting notes. Kara gives props to the stripper dance.. wants to borrow some moves. Paula said a four syllable word. Simon says performance was indulgent.. is that his new favorite word this season. He told Von that in Hollywood.

7:12 Matt’s next: Singing some Jackson 5. He wore Von’s hat! Great start. This is a much better song choice for him…blues, soulful. We’re loving it. He got a little crazy on the rifts, but great. JUDGES: Great. Overtop. Lots of rifts. Perfect song. Soulful (See we SHOULD be judges). Simon says: Hate the outfit. Someone hit him.

7:18 Megan’s up! And the hip sway is back .. oh, and she’s added an arm flail. We really love her voice. Great! Some iffy notes. Somebody PLEASE teach her some dance moves. She should sail into the finals. JUDGES: Simon has a crush on her, things she’s current, original, quirky (yes, yes, yes). Not the best vocal but great song choice and performance. Kara “we need you” because you are unique.. HELLO, we’ve been saying that.

7:23 Von (sans hat) is next: Shaky start. We’ve never really noticed, but he kinda sings with a strange accent. First part reminded us of a teenage boy singing soprano before his voice changes. Second half of song was pretty solid. JUDGES: Boring. Too serious. Ordinary. Randy: First part of the song was pitchy (hello). Kara: Great vocal ability but bad song choice. Disappointing. Paula’s been “studying him.” Run Von Run!

7:27 OK midway point, 1. Matt, 2. Megan, 7. Von, 8. Jesse

7:32 Jasmine’s up: Singing some Mulan, we love this song. Hmm.. out of tune. She’s not going to make it through singing like this. Sounds like she’s oversinging ..and through her nose. We did like the last two seconds of the song. JUDGES: Improved. Bad song choice. Out of tune. Kara’s confused. Paula: you’re determined.. what the hell does that mean. Simon says: Hate Paula’s outfit. Ok, Simon liked her? You never know what’s going to come out of his mouth.

And here’s Ricky: And Paula’s up dancing. We want what she’s on. WOW, Ricky sounds great! His last performance wasn’t a fluke. GREAT. Standing ovation. JUDGES: Sang your butt off. Simon says: Good chops. Paula: You nailed it. Now Simon says he was clumsy. Make your mind up Simon. And now Simon and Randy say they were’nt crazy about it. What? Ok, it sounds like the judges already know who they want in the finals and they’re tailoring their comments to match that.

7:45 TATIANA’s up. And she loves everyone. “I’m ready to sing for you America. Thank you so much” Where’d that accent come from. HA. She’s better when she’s singing the high notes. Didn’t she sing this before? The verses are a little shaky. Ok, no one can deny she can sing. JUDGES: Paula’s confused.. again. Simon: Can you sing any other songs? Ok, Simon really doesn’t like her. Now Kara’s confused.

7:47 Ryan sticks foot in mouth.

7:50: Anoop Dawg in da house: ROFL.. Anoop singing “I’m nasty” is HI LAR I OUS. Someone needs to tell him he’s not sexy. We swear he’s about to makeout with the mic. Wait haven’t we heard him sing this song before too. How much you want to bet Simon doesn’t give him a hard time about it like Tatiana. JUDGES: Simon calls him an enthusiastic dog. Hmm. Not great performance, but Simon basically tells him he’ll get through for his personality. Paula: Anoop’s nasty. (this is one time we wish we didn’t agree with her).

7:55: Ok, here’s our order: Ricky, Matt, Megan, Anoop, Jasmine, Tatiana, Von, Jesse. But we can guarantee this won’t be the order the judges pick em because as they said, we’re “casting” the final spots (translation: not judging the singing.)

8:00 Decision time: Jasmine’s in. Ricky’s out ..WHAT?!?! ROBBED!!. Megan’s in and Tatiana’s out… and here come the tears. Tatiana is bowing in front of the judges crying.. seriously. (we wipe a tear from our own eye)

8:05 One spot left on the silver stools of safety. Jesse out. Von out. Matt’s IN!!! And Anoop’s in too!! A Top 13… so that’s the twist. Kind of anti-climatic eh? Oh well, next time we’re here, Michael’s singing! See you then. Enterprise out.

Can't wait!!!!

6:00 Ok, we gotta admit we're pretty stoked about tonight's show! There are so many unknowns.. How will the episode be formatted? Will we find out the top 12 twist? Will Tatiana sneak in? How will all 8 candidates sing and be judged in an hour? How will the judges choose the final 3? Will von wear a hat? We're already biting our nails. Also, it's the last episode before Michael performs ... nervous for him already.

FYI .. Here's how you ranked tonight's contestants in our wildcard poll: 1. Anoop, 2. Megan, 3. Matt, 4. Jasmine, 5. Ricky, 6. Jesse, 7. Tatiana, 8. Von.

LIVE BLOG - Elimination night

8 p.m. And there you have it, folks. Are you satisfied with America's and the judges' picks? Let us know!

7:59 p.m. Tatiana is in. Oh the drama returns. Homegirl is looking like a crazy person on national tv. Tears, flapping arms and that hideous dress remind us of why we love train wrecks. Matt is heading to the Wildcard show. He's gonna "bring it". Last minute change according to Paula ... the judges pick Jesse for her "bluesy voice." Anoop is moving on y'all. Simon looks super SMUG with that announcement.

7:51 p.m. Von is the first Wildcard Pick. Judges agree ... he needs to leave the hats at home. Kara is being super dramatic in announcing they are bringing back Jasmine tomorrow night. Kara wants Jasmine to "kill us" with her vocals. We really don't think Kara has a good grasp of the English language. Paula's pick is Ricky. And Ryan didn't even give him a chance to speak. It was a hit and run.

Oh, Ryan called Simon Darth Vador. Simon's retort: "quit being a smart ass."

Megan is moving on to the Wildcard show. She is going to "sing her heart out" to make it into the Top 12.

7:47 We just got a glimpse of Michael! We think the Top 9 are looking fab. Simon is now detailing how and why they are picking the Wildcard choices. He said it was a team effort to pick the 8 Wildcards who will perform tomorrow.

7:45 p.m. Was it just us, or did Ryan seem annoyed that Jorge thanked folks in Spanish? Paula wanted to hear his "accent" last night. He was just bringing it home for her tonight.

7:41 Jorge did it! He's going through. Can we just say upset. We so thought Ju'Not was going on to the Top 12.

7:39 p.m. Nathaniel and Kristen are grouped together. We just gotta say, whoever styled Kristen tonight did a bad job. She is sporting some really awful Britney Spears extensions that need some taming. Oh, neither made it through. Felicia and Von are out too. It's between Ju'Not and Jorge. Jorge looks like it's a thousand degrees on that set and he might blow chunks. Irony from his little comment earlier about freezing.

7:30 p.m. Scott is in the top 12! Good for him. Ryan is telling him that he got a standing ovation.Scott thanks audience because this "means more to him than anything." Randy thinks Scott's "gonna keep it hot ... all the way through."

7:29 p.m. Ariana says she regrets last night's performance because she wanted it to be more contemporary. Shocker! Ariana is not in top 12. Taylor is anxious and not through to the Top 12. Alex would rather "lose being himself than win being somone else." LIAR! Guess he should have been someone else, because he is not in the Top 12. Kendall and Scott stand together to find out who's moving on and who's not. Tension mounts.

7:20 p.m. Kara tells America she is expecting "ridiculous" vocals from Lil this season. We think Kara needs a thesaurus. Lil is giving us another flawless performance of "Be Without You". Can we just say, this girl is looking and sounding great. Nothing ridiculous about her!

7:18: And Lil Rounds is in the Top 12. We rejoice. She is adorable.

7:17 Holy smokes! Nathaniel is without headband ... and complaints about the judges' comments last night. Jorge is sharing touching story about Puerto Rico. Ahh, it's adorable that he thinks it's freezing in California. It's so not. Felicia is rocking the sideways pony tail and is "letting her heart show on her sleave." Ju'Not said he had asthma attack during Hot-N-Cold. Poor guy!

7:13 p.m. And we're back and taking a look back at some of last night's performances - the great, the bad and the worst. And yes, all of Ryan's snarky comments to Simon are tossed in for fun as well.

7:07 p.m.This Katy Perry tribute reminds us of High School Musical ... the Unrehearsed Years. It's making us more cold than hot.

7 p.m. Oh Paula. What are you wearing? It looks like a curtain.

6:45 p.m. It's time to get out those pins and needles Idol fans, the show starts in 15!

LIVE BLOG - Group 3 performs!

At the end of the night, here's the order we think they fall in:

Lil, Ju'Not, Scott, Kristen, Felicia, Von, Jorge, Kendall, Nathaniel, Alex, Taylor, Ariana.

Read on to see what we thought in detail, otherwise we'll be back tomorrow for more Idol Chatter!

6:55
- It's about to start folks! Are you ready group 3??

7:06 - Simon looks like a Jarhead. Meanhwile, Von Smith is first. He's singing Marvin Gaye and...OK...not bad actually. And he hipped himself up so now he doesn't resemble the Mathlete nerd who sat next to you in Calculus.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Randy and Kara dug it. Paula was positive and crazy. And Simon said he reminded him of...Clay Aiken? (But it was a complement.)

7:17 - Taylor Vaifanua is going to pull off Alicia Keyes? We'll see...She bombs the low notes in the opening, but is decent during the chorus. Still...it's probably not enough.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Kara starts it off with some positives. Simon thought she was generic. Paula is perplexed. (Shocker)

7:25 - (Blatant Coca-Cola Product Placement) Then a quick interview with Alex Wagner-Trugman who's up next...he makes Von Smith look like the starting quarterback. He belts out - and growls - Elton John and isn't bad. But he cannot escape comparison to the skinny nerd from Can't Hardly Wait.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Paula positively starts it off and doesn't make sense. Simon compared him to a hamster. Randy didn't dig it. Kara was an encouraging camp counselor.

7:36 - Ariana Afsar is up next...singing ABBA! Ummm...not so much. Her range is weird and warbley. She's adorable and has a couple good moments, but seriously...how do you mess up Swedish pop?
JUDGES COMMENTS - Simon says it's terrible and a bad song choice. (We agree.) Randy advises to embrace her youth. Kara reminded her she needed to be cuter and touch people. Paula thought she was old fashioned.

7:46 - Ju'Not Joyner follows...with The Plain White T's. Let's see if he can pull of a lullaby...and he does! Perfect example of a great song choice. Not what you would expect from him, but enough familiar elements that he can nail it.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Randy agrees with us. Kara agrees with us. Paula agrees with us (even though we're sober). And Simon agrees with us. Obviously, we should be a judge.

7:56 - Kristen McNamara recalls the drama from Hollywood week and takes the stage with...Tracy Chapman. She kind of looks like a "Cougar-in-training," but she's working the soul outta this song. Think it'll work in her favor.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Kara says she should rock out some more. Paula thought she showed range. Simon is puzzled and thinks she looks uncomfortable. Randy agrees.

ONE HOUR WRAP UP - We think they fall in this order s far...Ju'Not, Kristen, Von, Alex, Taylor, Ariana.

8:03 - Nathaniel Marshall is condensing a 13 minute Meat Loaf song and...it sounds like a rejected number from a little theater's production of Xanadu. Still...he's weird and can sing, so maybe America will vote his way.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Simon agrees with us. Randy agrees with us. Kara agrees with us. Paula is hammered and nonsensical. (Meanwhile Ryan Seacrest exploits Nathaniel's Grandmother and Nathanial gives Paula a lap dance...what is happening?)

8:10 - Ryan Seacrest is a tool.

8:16 - Felicia Barton will sing Alicia Keyes...let's see if she can do it better...and...DAMN! She nails it. And looks g-o-o-o-d in the process. Good to have her back.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Paula has a crush on her. Simon was...meh. Randy liked it. Kara thought she did good enough to move on.

8:21 - Scott MacIntyre (no relation to Joey) is gonna try to pull off Bruce Hornsby...and he does. Brilliantly. He totally captures the sweetness of this song and we got chills.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Randy generally likes it. Kara agrees. Paula is giddy. Simon wasn't crazy about the song choice, but admires him. (Scott makes a joke about high fiving that makes Seacrest look like a tool WHICH WE LOVE!)

8:31 - Kendall Beard from Lufkin is up next...singing Martina McBride. She's gotta have pipes for this and...it starts off great, but she can't work the high notes. She's adorable and is a great performer, though. Not bad, but not great.
JUDGES COMMETS - Kara pointed out the errors but digs her personality. Paula loves her outfit. Simon likes her, but not this performance. Randy didn't think her performance was bad...but not great.

8:42 - Jorge Nunez is coming up next...with Elton John. He sings well enough - no real pitch problems - but it's just a weird song for him to sing. Maybe it's his accent working against him? Overall, the whole thing is a bit boring. But solid. But boring. But solid.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Paula is really drunk. Simon is cool with the accent. Randy is cool with it. Kara thinks he's born to sing.

8:52 - Lil Rounds (no relation to Wayne or Jeezy) is coming up next. She's singing Mary J...and it seems like Idol saved the best for last. While Mary J is a safe choice for her, she works it, looks great, and sounds perfect.
JUDGES COMMENTS - Simon says, "Brilliant." Randy loves her swagga'...dawg. Kara thinks she's a power house. Paula says she's first class.

LIVE IDOL BLOG 2/25

7:00: THISSS… is American Idol. So before we get started, let us make some predictions and suggestions. Who’ll advance: we predict Adam, Allison and Matt G.. Who should advance: Adam, Megan, Allison and maybe Kris. Too bad this is a popularity contest (meaning if you got lots of TV time you’re considered popular) and not a singing contest. (And it’s a good thing Michael’s got the TV time).

7:10 So how long will we have to wait for the first results tonight? And how many cheesy film montages will we have to watch. Well, here’s the first montage.. and it wasn’t that bad. Now the group number! Is it a coincidence they started the number with Adam and Matt G, the two we predict will advance?? Ok, Matt B. singing next to Kai and then Nick singing next to Kris were some strange pairings. Ok, Norm as Nick without the comedy doesn’t work. Some nice dance moves all the way around (except for Matt B. just looked uncomfortable.)

7:20 And other montage (that makes 2), Yikes, Matt and Jeanine were both bad last night. Remember that clip when Matt advances later tonight. Ok, 15 minutes into the show and still no results. Nice little speech there by Matt B. He does remind us a lot of Michael, which means he cannot advance. We don’t want anyone splitting Michael’s vote. Ok, Allison is up first … and Jesse joins her … and Matt B joins them … how much you want to bet we get no results before the commercial … and as predicted, Allison advances!!! Matt (woohoo) and Jesse are out. Allison rocks the song again! Can’t wait to see more of her.

7:30 Ok, two spots left. Kris and Megan are up next (they’re both about to be robbed, can we say wildcards). Add Matt and Jeanine to that group. Ok, one of these will be in top 12. Jeanine is out. MATT IS OUT!!!! WHAT??!! YEA!! This is grrrrrreat news. We would be happy with either of these making it into the Top 12. Guess DialIdol isn’t always right. And the results, after hours of Kara’s ramblings, Kris is in! So the multitudes of teenage girls DID vote last night. But his song wasn’t as good as last night. Still we think the tweens will carry him far.

7:45 We’re bummed Megan’s out, but she should get a wildcard spot. So it’s obvious who’s gonna fill the final stool.. but first ANOTHER MONTAGE. Damn that was long. And now Brooke White.. I hope she doesn’t mess up, not sure they’ll let her restart her song this time. Her advice to the contestants “Don’t google your name” HA. We think we’ll try that with the Top contestants tomorrow and report back. We wanted to like Brooke’s song, but we already forgot that she sang, (hope she doesn’t google this).
7:55 Five contestants left. Mishovanna, Kai, Nick, Adam and Jasmine all up. Adam should have this easily. Someone told us today that Mishovanna looks like one of the Who’s from whoville (dr. seuss).. made us laugh. So from here on out she’ll be known as Cindy-Lou. And Kai, Cindy Lou and Jasmine are out. Nick, Norman and Adam are left (yes, Nick and Norm are the same person…sort of). So, this is like last week when they left Danny and Tatiana for last.. (yes Nick is Tatiana is this scenario) … and the big cliffhanger coming after the commercial.

8:00 And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going.. but he is. Nick aka Norm is going home (but not without his silver spandex) Adam’s in. Damn’s he’s theatrical. – Enterprise out

LIVE IDOL BLOG 2.19

6:00 Yeah, we're freakin out. This is a BIG night. So many questions...Will we get ANY results in the first 55 minutes of the show? Will Michael advance to the Top 12? Will there be a cheesy group Ford commercial? Will we find out who any of the wildcard contestants are? Will crazy Tatiana return? ... Our prediction: Danny and Alexis will advance and Simon will give Seacrest another haircut. Oh, the third person? We think it's a tossup between Michael, Anoop and Ricky. Either way, we're pretty sure if Michael doesn't advance tonight he'll get to compete again in wildcard week (three weeks from now). No matter what happens, the last 5 minutes of the show promise to be nail biting!

7:10 THIS …(dramatic pause)… is American Idol (chatter). We really hate these results shows. They drag EVERYTHING out. For once, we would love like to see everyone cut in the first few minutes and then an hour of them crying. Ok, it’s on. 24 million votes were cast last night. None for Ryan’s new haircut. THIS .. is their Idol journey.. NOT AGAIN. More show padding. Ok, first group number! Singing I’m yours … Michael looks good. He’s sporting a Simon Cowellesque black t-shirt and jacket/vest. Ok, the group number is better than 80% of the show last night. Of course, we got absolutely no results in the first segment.. bet we can go another one too.

7:25 And now the highlights of last night’s show.. guaranteed to fill up the next 10 minute segment.. Ricky really was good. And now the bad ones .. not worth mentioning again. You’ve got to think they edit the judges comments to match what the final result is… yikes that may mean Tatiana’s in.. and now Alexis, also great! … pimp daddy Danny, getting the final spot AGAIN. Can the producers push him any harder?! Wait.. are we actually going to get some results.. Jackie rates her performance an A.. can we ask her to rate her Betty Boop outfit from last night. “Humble” Tatiana is back.. and she’s wearing Paula’s jewelry again (gag) It is gaudy right? It’s not just us is it?.. Seacrest is TRYING to get crazy Tatiana to come out again, but to no avail. OK.. results.. Casey is out. Stevie.. hands sweaty (cuz he knows he’s out) Do you think the judges know the results right now? Cause it’s pointless to ask them, especially when they give obvious answers.. and Stevie’s out. Alexis…(really! already?) .. watch this be a commercial break cliff hanger. SHE’S IN!!!!!!! So deserving. What are the chances that two girls make it in tonight and not two guys.. that would be a shocker… She’s singing …great again…maybe better than last night.

7:35 Ok, two spots left. Ricky and Jackie next. Ok, if Ricky’s out here it’s great news for Michael. Hey Seacrest, maybe Jackie likes clowns (she sure looked like one last night). Ricky’s OUT!!!!! They’ll definitely give him a wildcard spot. He was great last night. Jackie’s out too. Anoop and MICHAEL.. Here we go.. yikes! This is it. Scares us that they put them two together. Heart... beating… really… fast.. Michael “my heart is pounding out of my chest” OURS TOO. Going through is MICHAEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anoop’s out! WOW.. Michael’s singing again. MUCH better tonight and the mike is staying in one hand.. told you he could fix that. Sounded GREAT! …wish he had done that last night and saved us a lot of stress. Only 20,000 votes separated Anoop and Michael. At least 1,000 of those were ours! Way to go on the voting guys!!

7:45 So it looks like Dial Idol was accurate. We’ll have to remember that for the next rounds. We’re still in shock and our phones are ringing off the hook.. stop calling so we can finish the blog. We’ll celebrate afterwards. Ok, we were busy and missed some Disney AI ride/show something promo. Ok, settle down, wait those contestants are from last season. We LOVED Carly and almost boycotted the show when she was cut last year… almost. Ok, so they are going to sing and we’ll have our second segment with no results.. that’s ok cause MICHAEL’S IN! We’re going to use this song as a chance to take a bathroom break. .. back. You know it’s so unlike AI to reveal the best results in the middle of the show.. especially since the vote was so close. You know Danny’s got the last spot. But of course they’ll announce him last because that is the pimp spot.

7:55 Is it just us or does there seem to be more commercials than normal. Ok, we’re back. Anne Marie, Brent, forgot her name, out, out, out. Danny and Tatiana are last…OH THE DRAMA.. not really. Seacrest is trying AGAIN to get out her crazy.. but no luck. Hasn’t anyone told Tatiana she has a better chance getting votes playing the psycho part. MORE commercials?? We’ve been waiting for that cliffhanger moment.. of course they saved it for Danny.

8:00 Ok guys, we should explain: We don’t hate Danny, we just feel he’s been overhyped by the producers, so much that he’ll win no matter how he sings. And … Danny gets through. Wait… we …are.. almost feeling sorry for Tatiana. Nope. Well Danny’s performance has some great moments mixed with a few bad notes, but we can see why America loves him. AWWW… Tatiana’s crying (and we don’t think it’s funny this time..hmm..) Group 2, Megan, Chris, Misha, Matt B., Allison, Matt G., Jazmine, Ty, Jesse, Adam, Jeanine, Nick (NORM woo hoo)!! CONGRATS MICHAEL!!! –Enterprise out.

LIVE IDOL BLOG 2/18

6:45 Welcome to our third live blog for American Idol. It's been a long week, but it's finally here ... the first live Idol performance of the year! As always, feel free to join the conversation and leave comments below throughout the show. As each performer sings, we're going to make some attempt at ranking them (and yes, we ARE always right). So charge your cell phones and do your business, it's time for the show!

7:10 Here we go!! THIS is American Idol. So if the “judges are starting to look like the View” does that make Randy Whoopi? “Dude, yo, you got to be in it to win it, yo, yo, yeah dog”. enough said. Awwww. Kara’s nervous…whatever. Alright, enough will all the talk about how serious this night is.. we know. Could the judges put any more pressure on the contestants. What happened to Ryan? We miss Ryan’s faux hawk hair! And here are the candidates… Michael looks good .. Tatiana is …… bright. Jackie’s first: LOL.. she was the one who sang when the wall fell behind Simon. He should be scared of giving her any bad comments. She’s singing Elvis.. should be interesting. Shake it. We’re not sure about the outfit…a little Betty Boop for us. She even did a Betty Boop voice. It’s hard to hear what her voice is like in this song. Great stage presence though. Ehh.. it was okay. Judges: not sure about vocals but good entertainer. Can “work the stage” Those are some scary pants! Paula has become her old stuttering self. Spit it out already. LOL.. Simon says she played the CLOWN. Ahhhhhh, we love Simon (for now). Her parents are here?? Are we going to meet Michael’s?? Ok, her mother is too nice… let Simon have it!

7:20 Ricky Braddy (Bunch) is next. He was serving chicken fingers?? What?? That was a weird interview. Wow.. that Alicia Keys song was great.. did we see that in Hollywood? Here he goes: He stole Seacrest’s haircut!! Wow.. great voice. We’ve got a new contender.. Where’d this guy come from?! If there are other contestants like this that haven’t got much TV time, we may be in for trouble. Judges: Randy loves him. “unbelievable, good voice” Kara “you killed that” Paula “you deserve to go very fair” Simon “no star quality”.. hmm, maybe. Either way, we are now Braddy Bunch fans. Ok our first ranking: 1. Ricky, 2. Jackie. And here are the parents.. they’ve even got Braddy Bunch T-shirts!!.. how cute (or not)

7:30 We’re not fans of this new look on Seacrest.. a little too cleancut frat boy. Here’s pink hair (Alexis Grace) singing Never love the man. WOW.. doing great .. making Aretha proud. Damn, we are in trouble. Michael better ROCK it. Judges: She’s “dirty” (it’s a good thing) Randy and Kara love her.. Wow Paula’s got a lot of bling on her hand .. must be the new jewelry line Tatiana’s been pimpin. Wow, Simon says she’s the best contestant. Ok, so we’ve determined that the length of each post correlates to how good each singer is. We find it hard to type when we are enjoying a performance. 1. Pink hair 2. Ricky Braddy 3. Jackie. Is that her DAD??

7:45 Brent Keith.. LOL .. ah, the joys of live TV.. Brent’s tape won’t play.. awkward pause.. and we’re back. He’s singing Hicktown (live in one) hmm.. not sure about this song. It doesn’t really show off his voice. Yeah, not a fan.. we though we were going to like him more. Is it just us or does he look like he doesn’t know what to do with his arms.. Judges: Randy: Could see him at a chili cookoff.. WHAT? And Simon’s invited. DON’T GO. Kara disappointed. Thinks he didn’t take enough risks. Simon says he’s blown opportunity.. we agree. 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Jackie 4. Country boy.. Aww. .he’s sad.. there’s always next year Brent. (actually I think they make them wait 2 years, oh well)

7:55 Stevie Wright .. wow, Simon’s never said a good thing about her. Let’s see if she changes his mind. UH, NO. Off to a bad start. You can tell she’s nervous.. voice is shaky. And out of tune. YIKES. LOL.. they showed the other contestants watching from above and none of them were clapping along. And it’s over… that was sorta painful. Judges: Bad, bad, bad, bad. ..WAIT, Paula said she was bad too!! And Simon “terrible” but “at least you got some experience” LOL . 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Jackie 4. Country boy 5. Stevie Wright.

Now Anoop Dog (in the house). He’s singing Angel of Mine. Here we go: he’s singing into the camera like he’s some hunky sex thing.. not buying it. Doing ok, nothing rememberable yet .. little out of tune. Hmm. That was a bit of a disappointment.. too safe. Judges: Bad song choice, little out of tune. Wasn’t best performance. But they all believe in him.. awww. Whatever. Simon says too serious and grown up. But likable.. Simon “likes” him? 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Anoop 4. Jackie 5. Country boy 6. Stevie Wright

8:15 Ok, we’re halfway done. We’ve had a few pleasant surprises (Alexis, Ricky) and a lot of disappointments. So who’s next? Casey Carlson’s up. Every little thing she does is magic.. well let’s see. Not a good start. OUCH. That was out of tune.. WHAT’S GOING ON TONIGHT. These guys must be under a lot of pressure. Is she even with the music? Those cheesy camera mugs and moves have got to go. No magic there. Judges: sounds karoke, Kara “Everything about that was wrong”.. bad song choice. Aww, she’s about to cry. This is kind of hard to watch.. and Simon hasn’t even spoken yet. 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Anoop 4. Jackie 5. Country boy 6. Casey 7. Stevie Wright

8:25 Well things are looking good for Michael. It’s his to lose. He’s next.. and our TV is skipping right now.. .what the … technical difficulties here.. NOOO. OK, it’s back. missed first couple seconds. He’s making the song his own.. definitetly taking lots of risks. He’s making some weird face and movements, but sounds good. It’s a hard song to hear his voice on.. a little pitchy. Good job Michael! Judges: Started out pitchy (see we know what we’re talking about on occasion), maybe wrong song choice, didn’t perform it that well. Kara: Not his best performance but he’s likable. Paula liked him! “Did a good job” Found him changing mikes with hands distracting (weird movements that we were talking about). Simon “tricky one” says he likes him personality wise but vocals weren’t best. … but there were definitely worse. Simon asks America to pick up phone and vote.. Here’s his wife and Mom!!! They didn’t give the family any time to speak… show must already be running late.

Anne Marie singing natural woman. Decent start. We feel like she’s screaming at us on some of those notes. A little pitchy in spots. Safe song but decent. Judges: Randy “not right song” choice.. all agree. Paula thinks she did better than previously.. really? Then why did she get this far? Simon: “if I’m being honest with you” -- since when isn’t he --he could be the best hotel singer in California.. another reality series coming from fox? 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Michael 4. Anoop 5. Anne Marie 6. Jackie 7. Country boy 8. Casey 9. Stevie Wright

8:40 Steven I-forgot-the-words Fowler is next. Very sultry voice. He’s off to a good start. He’s not blowing us away but decent job..yikes some bad notes.., safe song though. Judges; “not right song.” ..ouch, they didn’t like it. Steven says “not comfortable performing without piano” .. he has excuses for days.. Paula disappointed. Simon “pointless" 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Michael 4. Anoop 5. Anne Marie 6. Jackie 7. Country boy 8. Steven 9. Casey 10. Stevie Wright (ok, this ranking is becoming harder and harder, We’re sure about the first 4. After that it is a mess (as were the performances).

8:50 Two left and you KNOW who’s next.. Yes, it’s Tatiana herself. And what’s scary is she just may have a chance with a great performance. The door’s been left wide open. Alexis and Ricky were our only standout performances so far, but have they saved the best two for last? Here she is .. God help us all. Oh goody, we get to relive all the drama of past episodes. Hmm.. but she doesn’t seem to be herself.. She’s singing I’m saving all of my love for you (not us, you). Quiet start, but it’s pretty good. OK we are freakin out at the lack of crazy. We could almost like her.. almost. She’s showing her demure side? Some really nice notes. Enjoyed it but kinda safe. STANDING OVATION (not from us, the audience) Judges: Randy “there were some nice moments” Kara calls her a “roller coaster ride” Paula says she misses the “crazy” Tatiana. Simon says she’s “drama queen” We kinda miss her too.. at least we know what to think of the crazy one. Simon says “better than expected” As we suspected, the craziness was all a show. WHO IS THE REAL TATIANA????? 1. Pink hair 2. Braddy Bunch 3. Tatiana (sorry) 4. Michael 5. Anoop Dog 6. Anne Marie 7. Jackie 8. Country boy 9. Steven 10. Casey 11. Stevie Wright ……..and we got a little peak of the old Tatiana at the end.. I can’t believe we miss that..

9:00 Well they’ve put Danny in the pimp position. Will he live up to hype? …did he and Michael buy their shirts at the same store? He’s singing Mariah’s Hero.. interesting choice. Good start, little pitchy.. not really feeling it, but it’s good. Wow, that was a good moment. Second half of song is picking up. Great finish. Not a stand out song for us but very solid. But obviously the judges LOVED it. “Blazing hot”, “hero of the night”.. okay, Simon agrees with us.. (we’ll never admit that again) Simon says he’s not buying all the hype yet.. nor are we.

OUR FINAL RANKING 1. Pink hair (Alexis) 2. Braddy Bunch (Ricky) 3. Danny 4. Tatiana (sorry) 5. Michael 6. Anoop Dog 7. Anne Marie 8. Jackie 9. Country boy 10. Steven 11. Casey 12. Stevie Wright

But enough of who we think is the best. It’s your turn. VOTE. Michael’s number is 1 866 43657 08 - (a very tired) Enterprise out.

LIVE IDOL BLOG 2/11

6:55 Here we go again. We'll be here all throughout the show to offer our running commentary. Feel free to use the comment button below to add your own thoughts. Good luck Michael!

7:08 The final 54 contestants show up at Hollywood mansion ... we're not understanding the purpose of the mansion.. will the contestants move into this place? Wow.. the singoffs are between people..oh, the drama. we love it. Does anyone else find the image of Cowell on a red velvet chair disturbing? "If I lose today, I lose everything," says Tatiana. HA. Honey, you lost it a few episodes ago. So the mansion's gardens have replaced the elevator? But the image of the kids crying in the elevators was always our fave. Anook (love him) he's in! 35 spots left. Von Smith, does anyone understand what he's trying to say, CALM DOWN, 34 spots left. Wait, his mom got to come? Will Michael's family be there?

7:20 We got a glimpse of Michael. Cody (horror film maker) up next.. first sing off. hmm, not sure about that song. Alex arrives (of course they had to pick Cody's friend to sing off against him, makes for better TV). Alex blows the socks off Cody but what's going on with his facial expressions. little scary. moment of truth.. Alex is in, Cody out. 33 spots left. Sucks that Alex's win came at his best friend's expense.. Adam Lambert next. He thinks singing Cher PAID OFF .. what????????? but of course they'll let him through, he's the fan fave. 32 spots left. .. oh guess what, Tatiana's going to cry later in the show.. NO, don't turn your TVs off.

7:30 Does anyone else find the decor of the mansion a little on the tacky side? Taylor V. up, not really remembering her, WHAT? she's in. guess we'll have to get to know her. Jasmine's also in. Arianna's in. Casey's in. Megan's in. Mishavonna in. Steve Wright in. 31, 30, 29, 28, 27, 26, 25 left. Joanna, one our early fav's is up, but didn't impress in Hollywood. just tell her she's in already. damn the judges dragged that one out. 24 left. Yikes these spots are going fast.

7:45 Who are these guys? Don't remember seeing any.. ah TK, Chris, Reggi .. out, out, out. Kendall, well she's definitely not dressed in all black again.. now all yellow. the brighter color must've helped. 23 spots left. Jen, wow's there's a lot of contestants who haven't got much air time, another sing off!!! we're loving the drama. Jen did a good job, Ah, now the girl with the bad group day experience, Kristin. Singing for her life. She's good too.. like her voice tone better.. but "I will always love you"?? Isn't that song a little tired??? HA, Kara just said, "what the hell was she wearing" Obviously we're not judging on talent alone. We just had a flashback to America's Next Top Model. Who would Tyra pick?

7:55 Kara tells Jen's she's too pretty? Jealous much? And Paula says Kristin's having an identity crisis, says "what are you wearing" LOL.. this IS American's Next Top Model.. Kristin in .. Simon pissed off. He wanted the top model. 22 spots left. Cruella da ville, I mean Alexis G. is up next. Seriously, the outfit?? (as long as Kara and Paula are critiquing clothing, we are too). She's in .. 21 left. Scott, the blind guy (is it politically correct to say that?) is up. In. 20. Lil' Rounds also in. Love her..name. 19. Simon calls her a "good old fashioned" singer? again, the name is throwing us off.

8:10 Thirty contestants and 19 spots left. Felicia (don't remember), out. Ashley, who is she? out. Devon Baldwin?? another Baldwin?? Out. Frankie's up.. what a cute kid. ANOTHER SING OFF YEA!! who knew we would love this format so much. singoff with Jessie, she's a very interesting singer. Ok, Frankie first, like her voice tone too. And Jesse, better but weird song choice ..yikes, Simon tells her it was a horrible song and then "neither" should make it in but Jesse still in. 18 left. To make her feel better, Simon tells Frankie she had no chance of winning anyway. harsh much? But that's we love him right? anyone? right? NEWS ALERT: Mike is going face the bald guy in the singoff.. THE OILER VS. THE WELDER. sounds like a good wrestling match.

8:20 Shera, out. Derik "dog" out. Got another glimpse of Michael.. he looked stressed out. They always make him wait it out don't they. Alisson, little spitfire huh, those Hollywood performances were pretty intense. She's in. 17 spots left. Paula calls her the "dark horse." Guess that means we'll have to remember her next time around huh. Best friends Danny and Jamar coming up.. there's no way they'll make them sing against each other right?? please don't make them sing against each other. Here's Danny, he's another of our favs. woohoo he's in .. which means no singoff. 16 left. Jamar's next..

8:30 The piercing in Jamar's mouth confuses us. WHAT? he's out. I thought they would keep him and Danny together.. you know, good TV and all (queue sad music) Just heard audible gasp as room and all of America heard results. Ok, enough will the sad music. Ricky in, 15. Matt G in, 14. Junot Joyner in. Jorge N in. Brent Keith in. this is going too fast, we're losing count. let's see. 13, 12, 11 spots left? we think. Stephen, the guy who walked off the stage yesterday, is up. he's in?? really? don't they usually cut people for just forgetting lyrics. and he WALKED OFF the stage. 10. Norm Gentle or Nick Mitchell.. which will we see? We're hoping for Norm. He CRACKS us up. He said he'd wear a bikini if he gets through.. He's definitely got Simon's vote then. Norman's in... GRRRRRREAT. This season will be entertaining to say the least. 9 spots left. OK, NOW turn off your TVs.. Tatiana's next. We'll let you know when it's safe to return.

8:45 Ok, surely Mike's in this segment. They wouldn't make us wait until the end again, right? Jackie's next. Great voice, gotta be a yes. And it is. 8 left. Tatiana has arrived. We've decided to boycott this portion of the segment and will not blog until it's over. ....... ............. ..... ......... ..... ......... ... ... ...... ...... ...... can't... block... it... out... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, damn producers, they'll do anything to get people to watch. 7 spots left. The look on the other contestants face when they found out Tatiana made it.. priceless. Another singoff coming .. Jackie, don't remember, and Nathaniel, can't forget. Jackie sings a tired version of 'when a man loves a woman' Kara loves him though. Did you see the red pants Nate's wearing?? could they be any tighter? at least they match the judge's chairs.. definitely an advantage. And another crazy has made it into the show. 6 spots left.. Mike IS in last segment of day. why are they torturing us??

8:57 Here we go. Fingers crossed. Jeanine in, 5. Kai in, 4. Anne Marie in, 3. Kris in, 2. Only TWO LEFT! Bald guy and Michael are last two left. And there's two spots left or did we miscount? Are both going to make it in? Is that the surprise result mentioned in an earlier segment? Let's hope our math's right. If so, we're going to look pretty smart for keeping count. Matt (aka bald guy) up first in sing off. Not a good performance..that's gotta be good for Michael!! Simon tells Matt bad song choice. Micheal's rocking it. Paula and Kara cheering him on. He's a definite!!! Here we go: they are BOTH in. Damn we're good. CONGRATS MICHAEL!!!!!

9:00 Michael called his wife (hey tiffany) to tell her he made it. Did anyone else notice how polite Michael was when talking to the judges. We haven't heard that many yes mams and sirs since grammar school. Anyway, congrats Michael. But take some advice from us.. stay away from Tatiana. Until next week...Enterprise out.

LIVE IDOL BLOG 2/10

6:45 Hey guys, are you READY!?!? We'll be here all throughout the show to offer our running commentary. Feel free to use the comment button below to add your own thoughts. Tear it up Michael!

7:05 Here we go! We find out contestants have the option of playing an instrument or using the backup band. Just realized we don't know if Michael plays an instrument. Is this really the fourth consecutive day of Hollywood week. They don't give the guys a break?? Ok, I don't recognize several of these contestants. Waiting in that room's gotta suck. Is it a coincidence that Adam's first to perform and first in many of the fan's favorite.. wait he's singing CHER? Really? Bet that makes him fall in the fan polls.

7:10 Ok, Cher didn't work for Adam..little too risky for us. Stick to the boy songs Broadway boy. Matt Giraud was pretty good. His voice kinda reminds us of Michael's. First standing ovation of the week!! This cutting between the audition and the waiting in the room is annoying. Danny Gokey .. what was that yeehaw move of Paula's.. you think she likes him? Seriously, he's pretty good. Ok, there went another of Paula's yeehaw moves. .. that should bode well for any Texan right?

7:18 And we're back. Anook rocks. Jorge Nunez ..ehh, something about him disturbs us, especially since he made Paula do that dance. Scott McIntire, you gotta give the guy props for making it this far without the piano..that's his thing. Another standing ovation. Kindall Beard.. another Texas?! woohoo, and she even sings country, not well, but country nonetheless. Lil Rounds mastered that power ballad (someone named Lil Rounds sings power ballads??) WE GOT A GLIMPSE OF MICHAEL..

7:22 Mishavonna, back from being cut last season, was pretty good, love the tone to her voice. Okay, we're moving guys into the holding rooms. Where oh were is Michael? Nervous to see who's room he's in.. that's always the first tell. Will Norm or Tatiana be in the same room and does she annoy you as much as us?

7:30 WHAT?? Michael's in the same group as Tatiana?? wow, that's the best we've ever heard her.. oops she should have stopped before the last few notes. Alexis Grace, great, Kenny Hoffpauer, decent.. Jasmine, have always loved her. Nathaniel Marshall's in this room too?? YIKES. He IS disturbia. Joanna is one of our favorites but what happened tonight? We were sure she'd be in the final 12. Casey messed up. Steven Fowler too.. again, what is Michael doing in the same room with these guys.

7:35 Is Michael in that group afterall? Dont' see him now.. MICHAEL'S COMING UP! They showed more footage from him on his oil rig.. go roughneck! Jumping between the rooms and auditions has go us mixed up. We're not sure who's in who's room ..

7:40 Ok, good. he's in another room (we think). Nick "Norman" scares us yet somehow entertains us .. not sure what to think.. does he have a third personna to choose from.. oh, he picked the silver shirt.. sorry, but he is HILARIOUS! Nick's in room 4, with Anne Marie singing the same song every other contestant sang.. i hope you dance.. (we hope you get another song) .. Where'd Ju'not come from?? .. we like and what a cute kid (didn't another contestant use their kid to convince the judges to let them move on? guess that's a good gimmick too) Tatiana has been moved to room 4.. If I were in the room with her and Norman I'd be scared as hell!! We got another glimpse of Michael, they called him an "early favorite" and asked how will he do?? He'll rock of course.

7:50 Room 3: Kaylan Loyd, out of tune...ouch, Simon DID NOT like that.. he gave her the hand. Leneshe Young is fantastic, definitely a front runner.. now back to room 2, Kai Kalama playing guitar, not good. Here's MICHAEL .. Kara's singing with him, always a good sign right? He sounds nervous (shaky voice at end). Not the best performance we've heard from him, but still very good. We're more worried about who's room he's in. Here comes the judges... tell room 2 that performances were so sporadic. michael's in this room.. HE MADE IT.. He's coming back!!!!

7:55 CONGRATS MICHAEL Now room 3: They didn't make it.. Michael Castro (little brother to last season's Jason), Lanisha Young both in this room.. guess we were wrong about her being a front runner. Ok, is anyone else annoyed with Paula, Kara and Randy. They played us Michael's group.. we were almost convinced he hadn't made it.. guess that makes for good TV.. heart... still... beating...

8:00 Final two groups: Room 1.. these guys have to be in.. here we go with the melodrama from Randy.. and they're in .. The final room, with Tatiana, have now heard two rooms scream.. gotta be out. But now the melodrama starts.. Tatiana is crying, stop! (We just want to take a brief pause here to contemplate how truely annoying she is) Kara tries to calm Tatiana down, but it just makes it worse. But are they in? Of course it's a yes.. haven't we learned anything, when the judges go on and on about why they may not make it.. we KNOW they did.. haven't they watched the show?!

8:05 Tomorrow night: Contestants will go to judges "mansion" to find out the final 36. (I guess we've moved up from the elevator and long hall of previous seasons. And do the judges actually live in the mansion. Is this a new reality series?? What happens when 4 crazy judges are put together in one house ... ) We'd watch. Anyway, we're told the judges have reviewed tapes and have made the final decision. Each contestant will sit in chair and be told.. WAIT.. some contestants are on the fence and will have to sing in a do-or-die to make it.. MICHAEL IS ONE OF THESE. We see Michael standing up and giving one last performance .. what we heard sounded good .. judges smile. damn cliffhangers ...

Anyhoo, See you tomorrow for more torture (Tatiana), entertainment (Norm) and suspense (Michael). We can't wait!
