DialIdol's prediction of who will advance tonight is a little (read a lot) unclear. Five of the nine contestants are said to be in danger of being eliminated, with Megan in the most danger. A dire predication?
Ok, we've got DialIdol's prediction of who will leave us tonight. Click "Read more" below if you want to see. 
So it doesn't look good for Michael. DialIdol puts him at the bottom of their list behind Scott and Megan. BUT there's been some confusion during the past few weeks about what DialIdol's prediction means. DialIdol does NOT predict the exact order the contestants will finish in that week. If you look at the last column, you'll see a range of numbers that predict what placeS (more than one) they might finish in. This is where they are usually very accurate. So they predict Michael will finish in places 8-10. They also predict Scott and Megan could finish 10th. So don't despair. He's not out yet.

Next week's theme: Motown
Next week is a Motown theme, with a focus on the 50th anniversary of Motown. The Detroit Press reports that Idol cameras will be at the Motown Historical Museum Thursday to shoot footage for next week. In Motown’s old Studio A, Detroit icons Berry Gordy Jr. and Smokey Robinson will mentor the show’s 10 finalists through a series of Hitsville song selections, sources said. The taped segments will air next week before the contestants perform the songs live on the show’s Los Angeles stage.

Michael is safe! DialIdol, which measures often each contestant's phone line was busy last night to calculate how many votes they got, puts Michael with the 7th most votes (the margin of error puts him anywhere from 4th place to 10th). Here's the ranking: 1. Danny 2. Anoop 3. Lil 4. Matt 5. Kris 6. Adam 7. Michael 8. Scott 9. Megan 10. Allison 11. Alexis. Either Megan, Allison or Alexis is predicted to go home tonight (only one is eliminated today). We think there's a good chance the judges would use their "save" on any of these girls.

Ain't Goin' Down
So we hear that Michael may be singing Garth Brooks' "Ain't Goin' Down Till the Sun Comes Up" tonight. We sorta hope that's wrong, as it's one of those songs that doesn't really show off the singer's voice and are pretty sure Simon'll say it's a bad song choice. "Not sure if the performance order is correct since I didn’t take notes. The first four are definitely correct, although again we don’t know where Megan is in the lineup since she didn’t perform (wardrobe malfunction). It definitely seemed to me like they were saving the “fan favorites” for the second half. Adam and Danny by far got the biggest audience reaction, both before, during, and after their performances. Right now it seems like they are the clear front-runners. Everyone else was good, but they both had that extra something."

Next week - Grand Ole Opry theme
Idol is about to join forces for a week with the “Show That Made Country Music Famous”! American Idol will feature a Grand Ole Opry theme on March 17 & 18, as contestants will select and perform songs popularized by Opry members! In addition, Carrie Underwood and Randy Travis will sing together on Randy’s classic hit and Carrie’s current single, “I Told You So,” plus Brad Paisley will make the television debut of his new single, “Then,” from his forthcoming summer album. Vote For the Worst posted the song list that the top 11 will choose from HERE.

We predict ...
Who'll stay and who will go?? We'll know soon enough. Here's our prediction for tonight's episode. Top vote getters: Danny and Adam. Going home: Jorge and Jasmine. Big twist: Judge's will get to veto one of America's votes this season (and if Allison ends up in the bottom two tonight, will they use it so soon in the season?) Group number: another Michael Jackson song (will we finally get a moonwalk?!) Group performance cheorgraphy: Scott sits or stands in place. Guest appearances: Kelly Clarkson and Kanye West (ok, this isn't so much a prediction as a fact. Any chance Michael Jackson will make a surprise appearance?)
Will judges get veto power?
Ryan Seacrest interviewed Idol producer Ken Warwick on his radio program today. Ken says the “new rule” that will be introduced tonight came about to solve a “problem that’s been around since Season 1.” Ken says they tried the rule out in the French version of Idol first.
According to the Wikipedia entry for Nouvelle Star, in the last series, the judges were able to exercise a one time veto on an eliminated contestant at any point in the competition. The judges used their veto during the first week, sparing a contestant named Kristov, who was eventually eliminated 3 weeks later.
Here’s how the new rule worked in France: The judge get a veto power, it means that they can save one contestant during the whole season. It works the following way, after the contestant(s) was eliminated, the judges have a meeting and decide if he is worth saving or not. If they decide he deserved it they give him another chance and the following week they start the show with the same contestants.

Of course, the margin or error means that everyone placed 6-13 are in danger of being eliminated. But it looks like Kris, Jasmine, Allison and Jorge are in the most danger.

Tomorrow's twist
American Idol will announce it surprise twist tomorrow night. We believe it will be a change to how contestants are eliminated. Our theory (which is shared by the majority of fan sites): After each week's vote, the two contestants with the lowest votes will have a singoff for the judges, who will then choose who leaves.. like the format of X Factor and America's Best Dance Crew. We're not sure how this will work tomorrow night when two contestants will be eliminated. Maybe the three lowest vote getters will take place in the "sing for your life." This should give the judges a lot more control over who stays and who goes.

Double elimination and surprise twist coming
According to interviews with Ryan Seacrest and Paula Abdul, two contestants will be eliminated this week. We'll go from a Top 13 to 11. Pick who you think will be voted off in our poll to the right.
Also, American Idol producers say that last week's surprise 13 WASN'T the big twist they promised for the Top 12. Idol producer Ken Warwick tells USA Today "There is a big surprise coming. You’ll never guess what it is, but it’s something that rears its head every season and it’s huge.” ..sounds like he's describing Simon's ego.

Is it Michael Jackson week!
Fan forums are reporting that the theme of next week's show is Michael Jackson songs! If true, this bodes well for Sarver who's favorite artist just happens to be Mr. Jackson! The Top 13 received a list of songs today that they can choose from. Any chance Michael Jackson will be this week's celebrity mentor too? Seems unlikely to us, as it seems a little too public. But it would give Mr. Jackson the opportunity to push his new tour announced just days ago.
UPDATE: Ryan Seacrest confirmed this afternoon that it is indeed Michael Jackson week.
The themes of the two upcoming weeks, in an unknown order are Grand Ole Opry and Motown, both themes Michael should excel in.

Is there a twist coming tonight?
Back in January TVWeek.com spoke with American Idol Executive Producer, Mike Darnell. At that time he announced that when we get to the top 12 there will be a twist. Could that twist be happening tonight? Or next week? Could the producers be thinking of having a top 13 or 14 with a couple of double eliminations? Or will it be as simple as getting to see the idols offstage (living in a house like the Real World... can anyone say Judge's Mansion)?
Here's a transcript of the interview:
TVWeek: Can we expect surprises as the season goes along?
Mr. Darnell: Yeah. There’s a big surprise coming when we get to the top 12, but I can’t reveal it right now.
TVWeek: Will it change the way we think of “American Idol?”
Mr. Darnell: Well, it’s not going to change what you think of “American Idol” and we don’t want to do that. This show is, you know, a phenomenon. It’s American, it’s apple pie. We’re not changing the core of the show, but it is something that will be talked about and is something I think that has some element of controversy surrounding it.
TVWeek: Do the contestants know?
Mr. Darnell: No. No one knows.
TVWeek: Is that part of it? You want to keep the contestants guessing?
Mr. Darnell: Part of it. But I also think it’s more that it’s a long season and you want to keep as many surprises for the audience, for the press, for everybody, as you go along. Some controversies will pop out. But this is something that we sort of felt like, here’s one set of things we’re doing, we’re going to wait and give you the other set when we get to the final 12.

The first wildcard contestants?
Idol websites have posted a picture of Idol contestants hanging out this weekend across the street from CBS Studios.
That’s Matt Giraud, Ricky Braddy and Anoop Desai hanging out with with Top 12 contestants Alexis Grace and Kris Allen. Are Ricky, Matt and Anoop in Los Angeles to participate in Thursday’s Wildcard round? Everyone seems to think so.

Once again, we have Dial Idol's prediction of who will advance tonight. They were wrong about Kris Allen last week, but otherwise boast a 97% accuracy rate (they say that, not us). Dial Idol measures how often voters received busy signals last night in order to determine which contestants were getting more votes.
Since this is a potential spoiler you'll need to click read more below to see it.
Lil Rounds and Scott MacIntyre are expected to easily advance. The third spot should go to Ju'Not Joyner but Nathanial Marshall (REALLY?) and Jorge Nunez are within the margin of error. Guess that means we'll get two guys and a girl again. That'll put 6 guys and 3 girls in the finals, more proof that the guys are rockin it this year.

Brooke White on tonight

How the rest of the Top 12 will be picked
We've had a lot of questions about how the remainder of the finalists will be chosen, particularly how the wildcard round will work (relax, Michael's already in) But if you have other contestant favorites, the next two weeks will work the same way as last week, with an additional 6 finalists named. Now we have 9 people in the top 12. Then on March 5 ...
Wildcard show
--- the next highest vote getter (after the 3 finalists already chosen) from each of the 3 groups advances (Anoop for sure)
--- Judges pick the rest of the people to participate in wildcard round, for a total of 9 or 10 contestants (producers said in December that they hadn't decided how many yet)
--- All contestants perform for a shot at the 3 remaining spots in the Top 12 (it is rumored that contestants will have to perform the last song they sang again.. we HOPE that is not the case. it was bad enough hearing them sing these songs the first time)
--- The judges will immediately pick the final 3 members of the Top 12.
