Where's the diversity?

"Six Caucasians have made it through so far. Is this what the new way of voting for the Top 12 is going to give us, the least diverse season ever? I mean, it’s a more or less safe bet that African-American powerhouse Lil Rounds will fly into a safe spot next week. But for now it’s “The Whitest Kids U Know” on those stools, a kind of non-traditionally cast Darien, Connecticut, community theater production of Dreamgirls."

  1. This is not true. Allison is not "white". She is latina. And why does someone always have to make a race issue out of everything? That ticks me off more than anything. Not everything is about race. Let's move past this issue people. I know that it is an issue, but this is American Idol...a tv reality show....not some political platform for ending segrigation.

  2. I am amazed that someone who is supposed to be supporting Michael would be creating controversy around him and these others by making up an issue that does not even exists. Do you think these guys need you adding stress to there already stressful lives. You know, its funny but if there is a minority in this country it would be people who are actually racist. The majority of this country goes through there daily lives never even thinking about color or race while shopping, working, eating, or walking right next to many different races of people. Don't use the ambition and dreams of these guys for a platform to make a statement thats been made since before you were even born. If your going to support Michael than don't blog about things like this because i am sure this doesn't add up to the positive message that he would like to bring.

  3. How about this, there aren't any minorities (with the exception of Allison) for the same reason there are only 2 girls. I would be willing to bet that if 1 girl every week was guaranteed a spot, there wouldn't be as many as there are in the top 12. It's about talent, not race.

  4. I don't understand how you can post a very touching, moving letter from the neice of James Byrd, Jr and then next post something that is obviously a racist comment right after that.
If you didn't write this post, then why are you giving the person who did come up with this sick post any attention. To bring attention to some stupid, obviously racist comment is ridiculous and shame on you.
I know that Michael would not appreciate this comment being associated with his "fan page". This is not what he stands for or believes. I think that you should take this post off of his "fan page" because non of his "fans" appreciate or agree with it.

  6. This needs to be taken off, I agree, if you are a fan of Michael and if you knew him at all, you would know he would not want to even be associated with this stupid trash. So please listen to his fans and get this off of here.

  7. Thinkin you need to change that to "the whitest kids I don't even know". Do you personally know Michaeal or any of the the others? And wasn't Michael's scandal 2 weeks ago that his inspiration was the music of Michael Jackson. Who, despite attempts to alter it, is in fact NOT white? Even as I type this, I know I am feeding your plot....you turned a simple minded blurb into a frenzy of comments and opinions. Hey, maybe next week you can bust on him for having blonde hair and blue eyes. Surely, that must be a sin too. What an Idiot!!!!!

  8. Oh good grief. This isn't a racist post. It was an observation made by a third party blogger. I think those of you who are "offended" by this post are over reacting.

If anything BrideOfGodrilla, this post's "plot" appears to have drawn out those of you who actually fear "diversity."

I am almost certain that no black, hispanic, Asian or any other race of person is offended by this post's observation. They're are probably more offended by BrideOFGodrilla's comment that Michael Jackson is "in fact NOT white."

  9. Ok so I cant say who I am but I am close to Michael and I know he has read the post and the comments. In his view it was not the wisest blog to post and wishes this wasn't even a part of a page that is in his name. As for you sir, the one that lashed out at those concerned about this blog, I respectfully ask you to be more understanding of the fact that in this area of the world this can be a very sensitive subject. So if your people ask of you to take this off than can you look past the pride and see the heart of southeast texas. So you didn't create the blog,OK. But, you did read it and post it on this blog. If Michael could speak to this himself I am sure he would not want this type of animosity to be any part of this page. Thank for all the nice and supportive things that you have said and done for Michael on this page and I know he appreciates it.I also know that you probably meant no harm but here we are. Please, just be sensitive to people and understand were there coming from and not get upset when they post there feelings. Thank you and God bless.

  10. First of all I enjoying coming to this site, you have done a wonderful job and I appreciate it, but,, I know Michael very well and he would not want this on here, there is no need for all of this, his fans would like it off, so please take this blog off, we would be grateful. And because people have commented on this does not mean they fear diversity, they have lived in this world long enough to know it is best just not to go there. I am sure it was not meant to be taken the way it has been, but it has, so it is just best to nip it in the bud, stop it right here and delete this blog. Again thanks for all your hard work on here, you have done a beautiful job.
