LIVE BLOG - Motown Results Show

6:49 - Alright folks, thanks for joining us again tonight! Stay tuned with us - and FOX too, of course - for the next hour as we find out if our own Pork Chop, er, Michael Sarver will stay or go.

7:01 - Seacrest kicks things off by telling us that over 36 million votes came in...the most in the history of the show.

7:03 - Seacrest, Simon and Paula...awwwwwkward! Time to revisit last night.

7:06 - BUT FIRST...we MUST have a medley! Along with some really bad choreography. The ladies look great. The guys, mostly look like they just rolled out of the frat house.

7:14 - Oh Lord...now we have to sit through this heinous commercial/music video.

7:15 - Give it up for Ruben Studdard! It was nice of him to top by "Idol" before going to party at the Playboy mansion later...Sorry...we're being told he's actually wearing a suit and not fancy pajamas. Our bad.

7:19 - Time for the bottom three...dim the lights, please. No rejection in brightened hues, please.

Adam...is safe!
Matt...is NOT???? Whoa!
Kris...is safe!
Lil...is safe!
MICHAEL...is NOT!!!! YIKES!!! Not good folks.

7:27 - Smokey Robinson and Joss "Shoes are not my thing" Stone sing "You're the One For Me" and the sound great, but OH MY GOD WHAT IS THE DEAL WITH SMOKEY'S CRAZY EYES??? Seriously.

7:35 - Time to find out who else is in the bottom three.

Allison...is safe!
Anoop...is safe!
Danny...is safe!
Scott...is NOT!
Megan...is safe!

7:38 - Scott, Micheal and Matt are in the bottom three. Randy doesn't think Matt belongs. TOO BAD DAWG...because SCOTT is safe...it's now down to Matt and Micheal.

7:44 - Simon says that they judges will decide to use The Save based on their final performance. BUT FIRST...and Motown medley featuring Stevie Wonder! Who...we have to say, sounds a bit off key...he's probably still traumatized from performing with The Jonas Brothers at the Grammies. Still...Stevie rules.

7:50 - This just in...Stevie loves Barack Obama. Despite being finalists, contestants lack rhythm while dancing.

7:56 - Who will sing for survival tonight...it's Michael! NO! Now he's got to sing to stay. Let's see how he does...don't think this was the performance that would win the judges back. But...if they didn't like this the first time around, why would hearing it again change their minds?

7:58 - Looks like Micheal Sarver's time in LA has come to an end...WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU MICHAEL AND ALL YOU'VE ACCOMPLISHED!

Seriously man...we've had a lot of fun on this blog, but are in awe at what you've accomplished. You should be proud of yourself...WE are ALL proud of YOU!

8:00 - With sadness and pride for our hometown boy...Enterprise out.

  7. I can't believe it michael is gone. I voted 280 times so he wont be voted off. I think they should have save him, because he did a great job the 2nd time he sang. Well good like michael I will be following your journey to success.

  8. Michael you were awesome and you will go far. It was great to see someone that refused to lose their integrity and give up on who they are for the sake of the fake!!!!

Great Job We love you Michael!!!

    You will never be forgotten!!!

  9. Wow they really got it wrong, I don't believe my ears that Scott & Megan made it past Michael. I can almost believe Anonymous 9:17 that the show is fixed.

    This is crazy.

  10. Simon if you are out there listening, you are horrific and a disgusting liar. You and all the other judges are jokes.

  11. I agree what the last person said. The judges are jokes!!!!!!!! I think that they need to have four new people. It is getting boring with all the drama with Paula and Simon!! Simon has to be the rudest person I know. He makes me sick every time I see him.

What I liked about Michael was he never let them get him down. He always had a positive outlook on who he is!! I still can not believe that Scott and Megan are still on there. What were the people thinking.

Michael will get the desires of his heart no matter what the judges think!! What a great guy!!

We are proud of you Michael!!

  12. I was only watching the show because I work for Michael's uncle. Now that he is off the show I can quit watching it!! I do not believe that the public votes count. They are keeping Meagan for her looks and Scott for sympathy. I hate to even say that but really Scott can't sing as well as Michael and Meagan can't either.

  13. M I'm so proud of you and your accomplishments. We love you more than you will ever know and can't wait to see the doors that God will open for you now. He has been in complete control the entire time and only He know's the plans that he has for your life. Remember Jeremiah 29:11.....Love you much and can't wait to go to some of your "favorite" places when you get back. :)

  14. Great job....Probably should have went home last week.

  15. Anonymous 1:42 You do not know what you are talking about.

  16. They have kept Megan on the show because Simon things she's hot. Watch the way he looks at her. If they get rid of her they have no one else on the show that will interest male viewers. They have kept Scott for the media hype as well. Note they didn't do a song on stage last night, they did a video. Why? so they can move Scott around without it being awkward and stage his camera shots. Did you pay attention to how they used him in the Ford videos? They are trying to make it appear that he's a normal guy. Its not about singing, its about money and who can bring the most viewers to the show. Its also about ticket sales. Why do you think they had Stevie Wonder last night? Its all marketing.

  17. I can tell you right now; me and a lot of my friends will never watch American Idol again, because of the things that went on.

But they all say that they would buy Michael's records, we all love him and believe he should still be there.

  18. You folks are broken-hearted about Michael leaving and are pointing the fingers at everyone else.

Michael is a good singer - not a great singer.
I agree that Scott needs to leave and that Michael is better than him.

Megan is good, too, and I think she'll leave sooner rather than later.

If you thought Michael had a chance of winning, you're crazy.

  19. I kind of agree with everyone about the show, but all that aside....

Michael is one of the nicest, coolest guys they had on the show. AND HE SINGS GREAT!!!!!

I agree I would buy his album.

  20. I think Michael really showed a true southern gentlemen spirit, he always had a smile on his face, and he kept it, even though the judges were like they were. Michael is a true star!

  21. I have known Michael for several years. Yes I am broken hearted that he was sent home last night, but primarily because I can see that there are clearly 2-3 other people that are still on that show that should have gone before him. I honestly do not believe that Michael was the lowest vote getter. I never thought he would win the show because I see the talent that others have, but I honestly thought he had a shot at making it to 6 or even 7. This wasn't necessarily about winning, it was about seeing someone get enough exposure to receive a life changing record deal or job in the music industry. Making the top 10 was an awesome thing. I hope it was enough to see him escape the oil field and move him to job opportunities that will be something that he loves rather than something he does to survive. So, we will hope and pray that this was enough.

  22. It is not about if Michael had the chance to win. I think Michael is very talented and has a great voice. I do not believe he would have won......but I do think he is a much better singer than Scott and Meagan. By the time they get to the top 10 they know exactly who they want to win the show and who they want to invest their money in. The rest is just for ratings.....they keep the ones that will cause the most contraversy (sp) that is what keeps viewers coming back. I can say without a doubt I will NOT watch the show anymore.

I hope Michael goes on and has a very successful career!! That is all that matters anyway!!! And if he does get a record deal his fans can then support HIM not the show.

Good Luck Michael and God Bless You and your Family!!!

    Good Job Michael!

  25. Figures differ as to how much the Idol Top 10 make on tour - estimates run from $2,000 to $5,000 per appearance, a range that will put Sarver earning in the six-figures. Although those numbers aren't official, the not-so-tangible gains are as good as gold for mostly-green participants.

HUH HELLO DUMMY, THIS COMES DIRECTLY FROM THIS WEBSITE HOW BOUT DO SOME HOMEWORK B4 YOU WRITE ABOUT SOMETHING YOU DONT KNOW ABOUT...

  27. Remember everyone God has a better plan for Michael!!!!! I think he did a great job representing Texas and his homeown of Jasper.
What a great personality he has and carries himself very well.

I am so sick of the judges acting so immature especially Simon and Paula. Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Its like a circus when they talk. How can they really know whats going on when they are always talking and not listening.

Thanks Michael for being the Man that you are.
Like he said the other day He will be who he is and be himself. He sure is not a put on.

    Go Michael!!!!!!!!!!!!!
