Idol tour skipping Houston

Tickets for the American Idol Top Ten Summer Tour, which includes Jasper's Michael Sarver, go on sale May 9. But Southeast Texans will have to drive to Dallas for the concert.

Houston isn't on the list of 50 cities the tour will hit, according to the American Idol Web site. There also are no dates booked in Louisiana.

At a welcome home event in Jasper April 8, Sarver told fans he expected the tour to have a Houston date and that he hoped to hear his Jasper fans there. The tour begins July 5 in Portland, Ore., and the group will be in Dallas July 23.

Are you as upset as we are? Leave a comment below and we'll forward them to Idol producers.

  1. I am very disappointed that Idol is not including Houston on the tour. Especially since Michael has a huge southeast texas fan base that included a lot of folks in Houston. Houston is one of the largest cities in the U.S. so why isn't it on the tour?

  2. Really bummed. Not much we can do about it now. But, the truth be told. I could care less about seeing anyone but Michael in concert anyway, so I can wait for his solo tour next year. We will drive to Dallas for him though.

  3. I can't believe the tour is not coming to Houston...we all were looking so forward to it...had a huge group already to go...I guess AI doesn't want our support....Why are they going to BC....it's American Idol....All Michael's fans here in the south are EXTREMELY dissappointed.

  5. It could be they could not get the dates matched up enough to rent a facility. Also, only one visit per state??

  7. California has four cities that are having the Tour! You might want to take a California one out and put one in Houston or Lake Charles! I am really disappointed

  10. Houston is the FOURTH largest city in America and they are going to the other three...and they are even going to two Canadian cities...what is up with that? It's annoying to really like the season and in essence being told I can't go. The Dallas show is on a Thursday....I can't just drive up to Dallas and drive back. Lame. Not to mention how many people in Texas (San Antonino, Austin and Houston) who don't like going to Dallas to begin with.

  11. IVE TAKEN MY CHILDREN THE LAST 3 YEARS TO THE HOUSTON CONCERT. WE CANNOT AFFORD TO GO TO DALLAS, WITH THE COST OF THE FLOOR SEATS (WHICH I ALWAYS PURCHASE- MY DAUGHTER IS ONLY 6 YEARS, AND WOULD NOT ENJOY BEING UNABLE TO SEE THEIR FACES) FOR A FAMILY OF 4, THE COST IS OUTRAGEOUS WHEN ADDING GASOLINE AND HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS- CRAZY.WE ARE EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED THAT HOUSTON IS NO LONGER ON THE SCHEDULE. MY LITTLE GIRL IS HEART BROKEN - SHE ADORES ADAM LAMBERT!
